I investigate the acute effects of repetitive sub-concussive head impacts on the brain. Particularly, I research how soccer heading affects (1) corticomotor inhibition using TMS, (2) cognitive function (working and long-term memory) and (3) motor control by assessing motor unit recruitment strategies and spatio-temporal parameters of gait. As part of my research I also investigate the protective properties of headgear.
