About me

Jose Ma, our Language Coordinator in Spanish, is responsible for the design and implementation of the language programme in Spanish & Latin American Studies at the School of Arts & Humanities. He graduated in Filología Inglesa at the University of Granada (Spain), where he also got his MA in Applied Linguistics and Language Teaching Methodology.

At the University of Stirling, Jose Ma teaches Spanish grammar, written language and conversation to all level of undergraduates. Besides, he also coordinates the module "Spanish for Education students", where teachers-to-be do not only learn more about the language but about ways of teaching Spanish at either Primary or Secondary Schools. In addition to this, Jose Ma has also been a visiting lecturer in a number of Spanish Universities (Granada, Córdoba and among others).

At postgraduate level, Jose Ma participates in the teaching of the MRes in Translation Studies (Spanish). He regularly supervises Dissertations for the MRes Translation and the MRes Translation and TESOL.

Finally, Jose Ma also coordinates the Study/Work Abroad programme for our students going to Spain or Latin America either as part of our exchanges with partner universities or as British Council English Language Assistants.
