21-year-old identical twin sisters, Nur Syahidayu Effendy (Dati) and Nur Syahidati Effendy (Dayu), are enjoying double success after both graduating with a 2:1 in Retail Marketing.
It’s seems that passion for retail runs in the sisters' DNA and both wanted to experience their university journey together.
Dayu: “I remember staying up to read the entire textbook on the retail industry in just one night because it was just so interesting to me”, said Dayu.
“I’ve always wanted to work in retail because there is never a dull day, every day is a new experience and I love the challenge”, said Dati, the eldest twin by 10 minutes!
Both Retail graduates have already bagged top jobs—Dayu is working as a Marketing Executive for Scandinavian-chic designer furniture store, Danish Design Co and Kuhl Home, and Dati is a Management Trainee at NTUC Fairprice, the largest grocery retailer in Singapore.
Dayu and Dati both made the most of their university experience and worked part-time in local shops and volunteered whilst studying for their degrees in a local hospital teaching sick children. “The roles helped me improve my CV and customer service skills as both positions required me to interact with people and be on the frontline”, said Dati.
Dayu sums up her time at Stirling as ‘interesting’, ‘insightful’, and ‘enjoyable’ and Dati describes it as ‘fun’, ‘informative’ and ‘exciting’.
