The University of Stirling hosted a delegation from FAUBAI – Brazilian Association of International Education, representing 11 Brazilian universities, on Tuesday 30 September.

FAUBAI aims to promote the improvement of exchange programs and international cooperation as a means to improve the teaching, research, extension and administration of affiliated institutions, seeking to stimulate the continuous improvement of the management of international exchange and cooperation.

The University is aiming to increase its links with Brazil and is currently a participant in the Brazilian Government’s prestigious ‘Ciencia sem Fonteiras’ (Science without Borders) scholarship programme. To date, the University has over 23 scholars participating in the scheme.

As part of their day-long visit to Stirling, the group visited the School of Natural Sciences to hear a presentation outlining the University’s existing links with Brazil and opportunities for future research collaboration. By exploring areas for collaboration in research it is hoped that the University will attract more students through the Science without Borders programme and develop further links and partnerships with Brazilian Higher Education institutions.

The visit, co-ordinated by the British Council, marked the end of the delegation’s European tour.
