I chose to study at University of Stirling because of its outstanding reputation, strong academic standards, and high employability rate for graduates, which made it a very attractive choice for my future career goals. I was also drawn to the welcoming culture and beautiful environment in Scotland, which offered a unique and inspiring place to study and grow both academically and personally.

Highly practical and industry-focused teaching

The MSc Digital Marketing course was exactly what I was looking for to expand my knowledge in digital and strategic marketing. What stood out most was the teaching approach, it was highly practical and industry-focused. For each module, we worked on real-world consultancy projects, which allowed me to apply theory directly to business challenges. This hands-on experience, combined with the expertise and support of the professors, prepared me both academically and professionally. It gave me me the confidence and practical skills needed for the marketing industry.

My studies at Stirling gave me the strategic, analytical, and practical foundation to work across digital marketing, education, and business development. The consultancy-based learning directly shaped my ability to lead real projects, train others, and work across international organisations and initiatives.

A great sense of community on campus

Studying at University of Stirling was an incredibly rewarding experience, both academically and personally. Living on campus made student life so enjoyable and convenient because everything I needed was right there, from the library and study spaces to the gym, pharmacy, theatre, cinema and coffee shops. It created a real sense of community and made it easy to balance studying, work, and social life.

I also had the opportunity to work as a marketing ambassador for the University, which was such a fun and valuable experience. It allowed me to connect with prospective students, represent the university, and further develop my professional communication and marketing skills in a real-world setting.

Easy to meet people and build friendships

One of the things I enjoyed most about the campus was how vibrant and inclusive it was. There were so many student societies and activities, which made it easy to meet people and build friendships with students from all around the world. I loved being surrounded by such diverse cultures and perspectives, and it was amazing to connect with people from different backgrounds and nationalities.

The campus itself is beautiful, with incredible nature all around it. The lake and wildlife gave it such a peaceful and inspiring atmosphere, which made it a very special place to live and study. I was also part of the kayaking team, and training every week at the sports centre was a highlight of my time there. It was a fantastic way to stay active, challenge myself, and be part of a supportive team.

What stood out to me most was the culture of support at Stirling. There is a genuine sense that people want to help and encourage one another. As the only student from my country studying there at the time, that support meant a lot to me. From day one, I felt welcomed, included, and supported by both staff and fellow students, which made Stirling truly feel like a second home.

An affordable place to live

I also really appreciated the affordability of living in Stirling compared to many larger UK cities. It offered a great quality of life as a student while still being well connected to major cities like Glasgow and Edinburgh and having Stirling the “Gateway to Highlands”, made it easy to travel and explore Scotland.

My advice to prospective students considering  coming to the University of Stirling

Trust yourself and embrace the opportunity, even if the timing does not feel perfect.

When I received my offer, I had just lost my beloved father, and it was one of the hardest times in my life. Still, something pushed me to go, and I’m so glad I did. Throughout the journey, I felt his spirit cheering me on, and I know I made him proud.

Not being ready but doing it anyway will carry you further than perfection ever could.

Work hard, study hard, try new things, meet new people, and make the most of every moment. Trust the journey and enjoy every part of the experience.
