Scott Burton

Master of Public Health

Scotland

The knowledge I have gained from studying the Master of Public Health (MPH) has allowed me to make more compelling, robust and evidence-based advocacy in my public health role.

I have a much broader understanding of the impact of health inequalities, which helps me advocate to improve this in my role.

The features I liked about the course are the flexibility to study at my own pace and the materials available, which allow me to study anywhere and when I can.  I feel valued as a student on the course and lecturers have also given me an extra hour or two if I need further support.

I have enjoyed the course and feel it has given me a wealth of knowledge. I had already been working in Public Health and thought I would have a good knowledge of most topics, but it has enhanced my knowledge considerably. What I've learned from this course will help me apply for senior positions in the NHS, which require a Masters or extensive public health experience.
