MSc Investment Analysis

Vietnam

I applied for the MSc Investment Analysis at Stirling Management School as I wanted to study in the UK, a country with an outstanding global reputation for highly qualified education together with state-of-the-art facilities. I was also impressed by the MSc Investment Analysis at Stirling Management School as it has a well-designed course structure. In addition, the Management School is ranked in the UK’s top 25 institutions for Business and Management. The School also has generous scholarships and financial aids for students. I was lucky enough to receive the Karen Napier Scholarship to study MSc Investment Analysis at Stirling.

I believe that obtaining the MSc Investment Analysis will benefit my future career and will enhance my job prospects. The chance of meeting, interacting and working with people from different cultural backgrounds at Stirling Management School was definitely a rewarding experience. In particular, it helped me improve my teamwork building and leadership skills. Furthermore, I was lucky enough to join the very first ‘Flying Start Leadership Program’. During this program, I had a chance to improve necessary skills such as networking, leadership and teamwork building, presentation, business strategy, working in multicultural environment.

The MSc Investment Analysis is a very well-designed course and has the right balance between academic knowledge of finance and investment and practical learning activities (i.e. seminars, assignments, trading courses). For example, I learnt not only basic models for equity valuation but also put it into practice in the financial reporting analysis assignment. Of great value was the opportunity to take part in ‘AmplifyME’. This allows students to trade across multiple asset classes, gaining first-hand experience of how intra-day trading actually works.

The teaching staff and administrative staff at Stirling Management School are very helpful and always willing to support students. Another great aspect is that the MSc Investment Analysis covers at least 70% of the learning outcomes of all three levels of the CFA Candidate Body Knowledge, so it is very appealing to those who wish to pursue a CFA designation. Additionally, every student of MSc Investment Analysis is given a chance to represent and participate in the CFA Research Challenge.
