Xinnuo's Story

Xinnuo Li – known as Lucina – worked as a flight attendant for six years but opted to change course to follow in the footsteps of her family, who run their own businesses. Lucina opted to study an MSc Business and Management at Stirling after being drawn by the stunning campus and friendly people.

The 28-year-old, from China, explained: “I chose the University of Stirling because I found the people here very friendly and helpful. The environment is amazing and the campus has everything I required – such as the gym, library and good restaurants.”

Lucina really valued the support she received at Stirling, adding: “My tutors always encouraged and supported me – and that allowed me to gain more confidence. At times when I lost my way, they were there to help me and didn’t only improve my knowledge but also taught me to realise my strengths and how to be strong and confident.

“I will remember the advice they gave me and I am sure their lessons will impact my life.”

Away from the lecture hall, Lucina joined Stirling Dance Club, met many new friends and travelled across the UK. She describes her time at Stirling as “beautiful, friendly and peaceful” and is now seeking employment – considering opportunities back home in China as well as in other countries too.
