University of Stirling graduate Ashley Duffy

Ashley first discovered her passion for housing while completing her Honours degree Sociology and Social Policy at Stirling. After securing a graduate job with a Scottish council, Ashley returned to the University to complete her Postgraduate Diploma, combining part-time studies with work.

In addition to graduating today, Ashley has also been recognised as the Housing and Building Apprentice of the Year 2019 by the Association for Public Service Excellence.

She said: “I chose this postgraduate course because of its fantastic reputation, its accreditation by the Chartered Institute of Housing, and its world-leading research academics.
“My six years at Stirling has shaped me into the young professional I am today and has also advanced my personal development. Balancing work, study, and life was challenging at times but the support and encouragement from staff was instrumental in helping me achieve my ambitions.

“The experience I’ve had while at Stirling has been memorable, inspiring, and rewarding. I’m now looking forward to taking the next step in my career and making a positive difference to people’s lives."
