Access to study space

Levels 2 (entry level) and 3 of the Library are fully open for walk-in access. These floors have a mixture of open group study areas, open study desks and study desks with computers. 

Level 4 is reserved for silent study. Study desks with computers are available as well as standard study desks.

Group study rooms are available on Levels 3 and 4 and must be booked in advance.

Access to services

  • The Click and Collect service allows you to request that a book is placed aside for you to collect from the Library.
  • Laptops for loan - there are 2 self-service laptop cabinets on Level 2. Laptops can be checked out for 2 weeks or for 48 hours.  You can borrow a power supply from the lending desk. Headphones are not supplied, please bring your own.
  • Well-being space – situated in the Short Loan area of the library.
  • Short Loan collection – high demand text books. 
  • Face-to-face library and IT support are available at the Information Centre. The fastest way to get support is through Unidesk self service portal, via live chat (on your portal), or by email at askIT@stir.ac.uk (IT) or library@stir.ac.uk (Library).
  • MFDs (printer/copier/scanners) are available on every floor of the library.
