Join the Art Collection for the opening of new exhibition, Memoria by University of Stirling Artist in Residence, Audrey Grant.

Memoria is the culmination of Audrey’s residency at the University, which she began in May 2023. During her time here, Audrey has focused on the landscape and ruins of the ancient Airthrey Estate, where the University is located.

This exciting new work, shown here for the first time will consider the landscape and the visible and invisible traces of its history by exploring and responding to the buildings still left in the landscape of this modern institution.

The exhibition, which will run from 25 May to 9 August includes large-scale photography, site-specific installation and film responses which encourage the viewer to consider the land as a witness to history.
Join us from 15:30 in the Pathfoot Building Crush Hall for refreshments and a first look at this exciting new exhibition.

About Audrey Grant

Audrey is an award-winning painter whose practice includes drawing, photography, and site-specific installation.  Grant’s work is underpinned by intellectual ideas derived from, and inspired by, poetry, literature, and philosophy. Since 2020 Audrey has undertaken a significant period of creative development. Her practice includes photography, installation, sculpture, and site-specific work to explore landscapes both real and imagined.

This residency will allow Audrey to expand and advance her site-specific practice which she developed in a previous project Inscriptions in Arcadia. This created a series of site-specific installations on the theme of real and imagined landscapes in the area around the Bothkennar Pools, near Skinflats in Grangemouth.
