Nursing and paramedic science fees

Information on fees and funding for nursing and paramedic science students.

Scottish students

If you usually live in Scotland and meet the eligibility criteria, you do not need to pay tuition fees if you’re studying to be a paramedic, nurse or midwife.

Tuition fee grants for all Paramedic, Nursing and Midwifery students are administered by Student Awards Agency for Scotland (SAAS). All students, new and returning, are required to apply to SAAS each year for their tuition fee grant.

All eligible students can apply for a bursary each year through the Paramedic, Nursing and Midwifery Student Bursary Fund (PNMSB), administered by SAAS.

Further details of both the tuition fee grant and bursary can be found on the SAAS website.

Students from England, Wales, Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland

Fees are payable by UK students who live outside of Scotland. See our individual course pages for the specific fees.

Nursing Scholarship and Access to Nursing Bursary

All applicants from England, Wales, Northern Ireland or the Republic of Ireland who meet the conditions of their offer will receive our Nursing Scholarship and Access to Nursing Bursary, which is offered as a £2,000 fee waiver each year for Years 1-3 of study.

It can be combined with our Honours Year Scholarship, which covers the fees for the Honours year (Year 4) of study.
