The University of Stirling is waiting for allocations from the Department of Health and Social Care for 2023-24 entry. We will publish this information as soon as it becomes available.
The Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) is supporting social work education through funding the Social Work Bursary (SWB), helping to maintain and improve the quality of social work education and creating a future workforce of skilled and qualified social workers.
This bursary is available for students on the following social work programmes:
- BA (Hons) Social Work (18 awards available)
- MSc Social Work (17 awards available)
Postgraduate students can apply for a bursary from their first year of study and undergraduates from their second year of study.

Eligibility and availability
- Students who have been offered a place on the Social Work programmes at the University of Stirling.
- Social Work students who normally live in England and who are ordinarily resident on the first day of the first academic year of their course.
- Postgraduate students can apply for a bursary from their first year of study.
- Undergraduate students can apply for a bursary from their second year of study.
How to apply
To make your application you will need to create an account on the MyFunding system. Creating an account is simple and only takes a few minutes.
If you are applying for the SWB for the first time, you must provide evidence to confirm your identity and residency. This is detailed on the application form.
