Accommodation application terms and conditions

All submitted applications are subject to the eligibility criteria detailed in the Accommodation Allocation Policy. Offers will be made subject to property availability and applicants’ personal preference(s).

The information provided on your application form will act as a guide in the allocation of accommodation and whilst every effort will be made to match your requirements, Accommodation Services reserves the right to offer alternative accommodation or to refuse the allocation of accommodation.

Upon receipt of your online application your student status will be checked against the student records system and offers of accommodation will be made to students who fulfil all conditions pertaining to the offer of study.  Where a rent prepayment is required (postgraduates) or rent required to be paid in full (pre-sessional) this must be paid during the online process and will be credited against the first due rent payment.

Offers of accommodation will be sent via your University email account and will expire if not responded to within seven days.  The offer will include details of the room type, residence, rental payments and occupancy dates for the property you have been allocated. You should ensure that you read the occupancy agreement carefully before accepting the offer of accommodation.  Once you have accepted the offer you enter into a legally binding agreement to pay for all rent charges due on the accepted room and abide by the terms of the agreement. Ticking on the accepted box acts as an electronic signature.

All information contained in your application will be processed to meet the requirements of the Data Protection Act 2018.  The University of Stirling is subject to, and will discharge obligations imposed on it under The Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002.
