The course structure was the determining factor in my decision to study at the University of Stirling. After receiving various offers from Universities across the UK, I found the MSc Finance course at Stirling to be far more challenging and in line with what I wanted to do compared to other universities. The course covers much of the CFA Programme curriculum and it offered me the flexibility to select some of my modules. For instance, I was able to undertake the research methods as well as empirical methods modules, which are highly valuable for pursuing an academic career in Finance.
In addition, the course provided us with the opportunity to participate in the Amplify Trading Boot Camp which is exceptional for gaining experience as an analyst, trader and market maker. The training offers you a competitive advantage as a graduate jobseeker as well as a great understanding of the financial markets. My degree helped me to find a job immediately after I submitted my dissertation. I currently work with First Derivatives and I have been able to travel while working as a Capital Markets Consultant for some of the largest global institutions.
The University of Stirling is a multicultural environment which exposes you to a different global perspective. Here you meet people from all over the world and you adopt a different cultural mind-set while building lifelong friendships. This is one of the most valuable outcomes from my memorable student experience at the University of Stirling!
The campus itself is one of the most beautiful you will ever see, thus studying an interesting course in a pleasant environment is an ideal student experience.
I’d advise all students to embrace the opportunities that the University of Stirling has to offer you. One day you will look back and realise that this was one of the most beautiful experiences of your life!
