I was attracted to study at the University of Stirling as it has a fantastic reputation for psychology, attracts a wide variety of students and has great working and recreation facilities. The smaller community feel on the beautiful campus makes it very different to other universities in Scotland. The lecturers and staff in the psychology dept are always there to help you and provide advice; you always feel supported. The guest lecturers from different working and academic backgrounds meant you were learning from a variety of people in Health Psychology. My placement within NHS Forth Valley allowed me to link the theory to the practice and gave me valuable experience in a healthcare setting.
I have been lucky to have secured myself a full-time job as a Behaviour Change Practitioner with SAMH. Learning about behaviour change theories and research has been a fundamental part of the course and as my job is focused on applying behaviour change techniques, I feel the MSc has prepared me for applying the knowledge and skills I have learned.
