Kwek Xin Lin is celebrating after graduating in BA (Hons) Sustainable Events Management at the University of Stirling in Singapore, and is preparing to take the next steps in her career.
A growing need for the events industry to consider sustainability and environmental issues, coupled with the University’s reputation, is what led Kwek to choosing Stirling.
“I have long been interested in events and marketing, and I wanted to choose a course which not only increases my employability but enhances my understanding of managing events in an environmentally friendly way, “ she said. “The teaching approach which the University took during my course has also been great, as it has allowed me to develop my way of thinking and problem-solving abilities.”
“I really enjoyed my seminars during the course as the lecturers are very knowledgeable and always prepared to provide advice to help students with assignments. The help I received to improve my academic writing was particularly invaluable.”
To complement her studies, Kwek also undertook a number of voluntary roles assisting at festivals and events, including a United Nations conference.
She added: “I am proud to be graduating and excited to put all my learning experiences into action as I progress my career. My experience at Stirling has been enriching, unforgettable, and one of self-discovery.”
