My desire had always been to work in publishing and once I had begun my career, my interest in studying the subject was created.
Luckily, I had the opportunity to study both the MLitt and the MSc Programmes at Stirling and though I have a lot of publishing experience, these courses enriched my knowledge and expertise greatly – especially at an international level.
Now I would say that the Mlitt is more suitable for newcomers into publishing, as it provides students with the essential publishing tools, such as editorial, production, and marketing. The MSc is more useful for those who have already worked or are working in publishing and aim to enhance their management skills, as it focuses on management and financial issues.
I really enjoyed my time at the University and the beautiful town of Stirling has everything a student needs within easy reach; from shopping, food and local transport, to easy links with the nearby cities of Edinburgh and Glasgow.
Even more important is the friendly and encouraging atmosphere which you’ll find here in the area in general, and at the University in particular. Choosing a place to study and live is not an easy decision; but if you’re looking for a beautiful, friendly, safe place to learn, you should consider Stirling.
