The joint Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) and University of Stirling Management School interdisciplinary Centre for Sustainable Practice and Living (CSPL) and the University of Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership (CISL) are delighted to announce an innovative programme to support organisations in their efforts to address the challenge of sustainability.
The Sustainability Leadership Development Programme (SLDP) enables leaders to make better decisions by helping them combine operating priorities with emerging economic, social and environmental trends. The programme modules provide practical insights and toolkits to address key threats and opportunities.
We have developed a powerful learning journey for organisations to achieve maximum business impact. Senior leaders completing the journey will understand the scale of change required to achieve critical sustainability gains, will be equipped to select the right priorities and make the most of investments in sustainability and will be inspired to seek out radical new pathways with stakeholders and value chain partners.
Relentlessly increasing pressure on scarce resources, social, economic and climatic volatility all have significant implications for business. The programme will help participants to identify key and often invisible risks and opportunities for their company stakeholders and to reap the rewards of embedding sustainability in the core of their organisation.
The programme’s collaborative approach provides a unique and compelling experience. Participants will apply scenario planning, systems thinking and business innovation frameworks to develop innovative solutions and new value propositions. It empowers leaders to shape and deliver action plans that exceed stakeholder expectations for both short and long term advantage.
"The only profitable businesses in the 21st Century will have low environmental impact. They will be visionary. They will see the environment and social issues as massive market opportunities. This programme will help Scottish senior executives and decision-makers to do just this."
CEO, Scottish Environment Protection Agency, and Senior Associate, CISL
