Teachers, lecturers
and career advisers

We work closely with teachers, college lecturers and careers staff to show students the opportunities available to them and ensure they know they how to fulfil their potential.

Staff from our recruitment team spend much of the year out and about at schools, exhibitions, careers fairs and more to spread the word of the opportunities available at the University of Stirling. Find out where you can meet and speak to them.

  • UCAS Exhibitions

UCAS Exhibitions are organised across the UK and are attended by representatives from a wide range of institutions, including Stirling. They’re an effective way for students to find out about the different opportunities available to them within higher education.

Use the listings below to find out when we’re in your area. You can find out how to register and attend each event on the UCAS website.

  • Careers events and parents’ evenings

Each year staff from our Student Recruitment team participate at school and college careers events and parents’ evenings throughout the country.

Please contact us if you would like a Stirling representative to attend your event.

  • Talks at schools and colleges

Staff from our Student Recruitment team would be delighted to visit your institution to talk to pupils and parents. Popular subject areas for such talks include:

    • opportunities within Higher Education
    • the benefits of Higher Education
    • student life
    • student finance
    • the UCAS application process including the UCAS Personal Statement and Academic Reference
    • subject related talks, organised in conjunction with the University's academic departments
    • the University of Stirling

We can tailor our visit to suit the specific requirements of your event and your students. Please contact us if you’re interested in organising a visit.

  • Tour of Northern Ireland by Scottish universities

Representatives from seven Scottish universities (Stirling, Strathclyde, Heriot-Watt, Dundee, Aberdeen, Glasgow and Edinburgh) visit schools and further education colleges throughout Northern Ireland during a one-week tour in the spring term. The tour promotes the benefits of studying in Scotland and highlights the distinctive features of each touring institution.

Please contact us if you’d like us to visit your school or college as part of the next tour.

  • Events on campus for college staff and teachers

We run two main conferences throughout the year to provide information, advice and guidance to teachers, lecturers and advisers.

We aim to provide information about the university to help support advisers in their work with prospective students. This will include information on the kind of services and support we can provide both on campus and in schools and colleges, sessions on reading admissions, applying to university and subject specific information.

    Teachers conference

We would like to invite all school staff to our conference. The date for the 2018 conference will be confirmed shortly.

We will be running sessions throughout the day to help you advise your students on applying to university in general, and what the University of Stirling can offer them. A range of topics will be covered on the day including admissions, writing personal statements, writing tutor references, and routes into Higher Education. Information on the kind of services and support we can provide both on campus and in schools will also be provided.

The programme is still being finalised, and we will, of course, send you updated details once you register. We will also update this webpage with information as we have it.

Information on how to register will appear here once the date has been confirmed. If you have any questions about the day in general, or about a particular subject in particular, please do not hesitate to get in touch:

We hope to run the next college staff conference in 2018. We will publish details here as soon as we can.
