Student Support Services run several workshops over the course of the academic year to help support your emotional and financial wellbeing while you are at University. The workshop themes change each semester and are student led so please keep checking this page for updates. We welcome all suggestions for suitable workshop themes so please get in touch if you have any ideas!
A series of free, informal workshops designed to help students living in University accommodation with adjusting to University life, coping with stress and setbacks, managing relationships, using positive psychology and dealing with perfectionism. Workshops will be facilitated by professional practitioners from Student Support Services and participants will have the opportunity to shape the workshop themes.
You will be working with up to 20 fellow students in a group setting, facilitated by a University mental health and wellbeing practitioner.
We are offering five workshops which will run between November 2017 and April 2018. In order to fully benefit from the workshops we encourage you to attend all five. There is no charge. The first workshop will be announced soon!
To be confirmed- watch this space! Refreshment and snacks will be provided.
We will ask you to rate your perceptions of your own resilience and coping skills before you participate and then again at the end of the programme. We want you to develop practical skills for University life and we'd like to find out how well this programme works for you! We'll share all results with you and you won't ever be identifiable from summary reports. Taking party in the research element of the programme is optional.
If you are interested, please complete the short 'Expression of Interest' form here by Friday 17th November 2017. Places are limited to 20 participants for this opportunity and shall be drawn at random from the list of applicants.

The Faculty of Arts and Humanities in partnership with Student Support Services are offering free workshops to help transform your response to stress and anxiety around assessment times.
A series of free, informal workshops focussed on helping you succeed in exams which concentrate on mindfulness, relaxation and managing procrastination. Workshops will be facilitated by a professional practitioner from Student Support Services.
If you are a Faculty of Arts & Humanities undergraduate student you are most welcome to attend these sessions.
