At some point during your time at university you may experience personal problems, similar to those listed below, that seem too much for you to be able to cope with alone. You may want to talk to someone about what is happening, find out some facts which may help you make a decision, or talk to others who have experienced similar problems:
Sometimes unexpected things happen which affect how well we can study or how we perform in exams, or may mean that we need extra time to meet a deadline. If something has happened at home, you are ill or some other unforeseen circumstance has occurred and you feel that this will affect your studies, you need to let us know about the problem in writing as soon as it occurs or as soon as possible afterwards.
Information relating to reporting procedures during examinations is available via the Exams Office website. Please refer to your module or programme handbook for information relating to requests for an extension to the deadlines for your assignments and/or class tests.
If you want to talk in private about something that is affecting your ability to study effectively, then make an appointment to speak to one of our counsellors at the Counselling and Wellbeing Service.
