Accommodation

Student accommodation in 4 bedroom flats is provided by NHS Highland.  One months deposit required.  Rent is paid monthly by direct debit

Students can change their address via the portal.  If you require written confirmation of your programme and address to open a bank account please contact Highland Campus Admin.

It is important you check your university email regularly as this is how we will contact you.

Books

Borrowing :  Highland Health Sciences library

The Highland Health Sciences Library offers an impressive collection of healthcare books and journals and also includes an IT training suite. The library is open to all those who work and study in the Centre, NHS Highland staff, Highland Council Social Work Department staff, and Highland Hospice staff and students.

Car Parking

A £1 token is required on exiting the car park.  A mandate can be paid by direct debit at a cost of £6.00 per month. Forms can be obtained from the main reception desk.  These require to be stamped and signed by the Highland Campus Admin office.

Catering

On campus – NHS Highland provide a variety of food at the campus café

Raigmore Hospital – students may also use the hospital canteen

Certificates

If you have been asked to produce any documentation by admissions you can present this to the Highland Campus Admin office who will scan them directly and verify they have seen the original paperwork.

Doctors

If away from home please register with a doctor as soon as possible to allow you to be seen if ill.  A list of nearby doctors will be issued on in the first week of your programme.

Located in the first office as you enter the upstairs corridor.  If you are unsure of who to contact they will direct you to the appropriate person. 

They will issue your uniforms prior to placement and deal with general queries throughout your programme002E

How do I collect my ID card?

In order to obtain your student ID card, you must have completed online enrolment and uploaded your photograph (via the portal).   Should you have problems uploading please contact Highland Campus Admin.  Cards will be issued by Highland Student Support once received.

Should you lose your ID card a replacement can be ordered by contacting student.support@stir.ac.uk at a cost of £10

Located in the breakout area behind the admin office. This email should be used, in the first instance to contact the team, unless in an emergency.  You will be introduced to the support team in the first week.  The team deal with placement issues, SAAS placement expense claims, absence and attendance hours and general student admin.

Wireless network

If you wish to access the university campusnet you should approach the library in the first instance or Kate Hannay if the library is unstaffed.

Cfhs has guest wireless facilities. 

NHS residential accommodation has no wireless network at present.  Most residential students use a dongle on the 3 network.
