Beginners Courses

Develop new skills, gain confidence and progress in your chosen activity with our six-week student courses, led by one of our qualified instructors.

Booking and prices

  • Must be booked in advance by booking online or visiting reception.
  • Spaces are limited.

Unless otherwise stated, prices are:

  • Non-members: £22.50 (find out how you can join us)
  • Members: £15 

Introduction to lifting

Date: Tuesdays, 2 April - 7 May

Time: 18:00-19:00

Location: Performance Suite

Want to feel fitter and stronger, but don’t know where to start? Join our Fitness Officer to learn the basics of strength training and improve your confidence using the equipment.

This is a great first step into strength training as you will learn a range of exercises and techniques to train specific muscle groups.

Couch to 5K

Date: Tuesdays, 5 February - 26 March 2019

Time: 17:15 – 18:00

Location: Meet at Sports Centre café

Meet like-minded people and gain some encouragement to improve your fitness with our complete beginner jogging course.  Our instructor will guide you through building up your fitness to run our Campus 5k on Wednesday 3 April.  This course includes FREE entry into the Campus 5K.
