NextGen Performance Swimming Camp

Experience the life of a high performance swimmer this summer at the University of Stirling!

The University of Stirling invites you to take part in an exciting opportunity to develop yourself as an athlete, in and out of the pool, at its NextGen Performance Swimming Camp on Monday 1 to Wednesday 3 July.

Open for club swimmers aged between 12 and 18 years old, the three-day residential camp will help athletes work on the skills needed to pursue their swimming goals and provide a unique insight into the ethos, principles and culture that has led to the University’s unrivalled swimming success.

The camp will be led by former World Championships swimmer and University of Stirling swim coach, Charlie Boldison, and managed by Team Scotland Commonwealth Games Team Manager, Lindsay Lewis.

What's included

  • Pool sessions at the National Swimming Academy, led by Charlie Boldison, focusing on:
    • skills + technique workshops
    • our training principles
    • stroke analysis
  • Strength and conditioning workshop with the University’s Lead Strength and Conditioning Coach, and former World Championships swimmer, Joshua Walsh.
  • Observation of high performance training sessions.
  • Meet and greet opportunities with the University of Stirling High Performance Swimming Team.
  • Education talks from coaching team

  • Yoga with University of Stirling high performance swimmer and qualified yoga instructor, Eve Thompson, focusing on:
    • flexibility
    • core strength
    • breathing skills
    • camp kit
  • Full board and accommodation will be provided in the University’s residences and catering outlets.

Who's it for?

  • We welcome age group swimmers who are registered under an affiliated swim club  (minimum age: 12 years).
  • Swimmers aiming to develop themselves toward performance swimming.
  • The camp also welcomes multi-classification athletes.
