Young at Heart

Our Young at Heart programme offers a range of activities for those aged over 50 to get active, stay social and have fun.

Free introductory session

If you’re thinking about joining our Young at Heart scheme you can take advantage of a free introductory exercise consultation service and complimentary tour of the sports facilities.

Young at heart classes

ClassDescription
Exercise to Music This class consists of light, aerobic exercises performed to music. It aims to improve the efficiency of the heart and lungs, muscular tone and flexibility.
Indoor Games This social session includes tennis, badminton, table tennis and squash, suitable for all ability levels. Equipment is provided and there is a break for coffee and refreshments.
Pilates Pilates improves flexibility, builds strength and develops control and endurance in the entire body. It puts emphasis on alignment, breathing and developing a strong core.
Stretch and Tone Stretch and Tone is designed to strengthen and tone muscles and increase flexibility. The class consists of a light aerobic warm up, balance exercises with the use of a chair, dumbbell toning exercises, resistance band work, and stretching.

Book on to Exercise to Music and receive 50% off your booking for Stretch and Tone.

These sessions can be booked as a drop in where space is available (£4.50). For information on additional sessions; including Aerobics and Tone, Pilates, Swimming, and Fitness Workshops, please contact the Sports Centre reception.

All bookings are made through the Sports Centre reception. Bookings can be made by phone or in person. Places are limited.
