October 2018 holiday programme

Monday 15 October – Wednesday 17 October

This half-term we'll be hosting a multi-sport programme mixing performance training and fun. The sessions focus on swimming and running – key sports included in disciplines such as modern pentathlon, tetrathlon and triathlon – and are the perfect opportunity for local athletes to hone their skills around these events.

To ensure athletes get the most from their training, we ask that all participants are already competent swimmers and runners and attend coached training at a club on a weekly basis. As a minimum requirement, we ask participants to be able to swim 150m in four minutes, and can jog 2.5km as a warm up for running.

These sessions cost £14 per half day, and take place in the University’s National Swimming Academy and Running Track on the following dates and times.

In primary school?

For this programme, training maturity and enthusiasm are more important than age, but if athletes are still at primary school then please contact our coach to discuss whether this training would be suitable on william.mitchell@stir.ac.uk.
