Offering a paid internship gives you the opportunity to gain additional resource for your organisation at the same time as helping to develop motivated students and graduates who have an interest in working in your industry.
An internship can offer your organisation the following benefits:
Flexibility: Paid internships can run part-time during semester (15 hours a week maximum) or part-time or full time during the summer vacation (4 to 12 weeks). Internship projects could include a piece of research, social media projects, database design and event organisation. Please contact us with any other ideas you may have.
Cost effectiveness: The cost of taking on a student or graduate intern is not usually as much as taking on an experienced member of staff. However, we do suggest you consider a reasonable hourly rate above the new National Living Wage (£8.25 an hour) to attract the best candidates.
Subsidised internships for our students and graduates: These are available at times through the University in association with partner organisations.
The University of Stirling Careers and Employability Service is working with local companies to help Stirling students and graduates gain experience in the workplace through full-time paid internships.
