Jo has worked at the University of Stirling since 2003. She is an experienced Careers and Employability Consultant, specialising in business engagement. Her present role involves bringing businesses from the private, public and third sector on to campus to engage with Stirling students and academic staff. Jo is also responsible for the Stirling Internship Programme, which offers paid part-time and summer internships for Stirling students and graduates with local organisations, with financial support from Santander Universities. She also develops volunteering projects for some of the University’s accredited work based learning modules. Prior to her current role, Jo was heavily involved in working with academic staff to embed careers education within departmental programmes. She has also delivered career management and work experience modules, insight into management and teaching programmes, as well as careers guidance.
Jo completed her Postgraduate Diploma in Careers Guidance at Edinburgh Napier University in 1999 and a BSc(Hons) in Geography at the University of Edinburgh in 1995. Prior to joining the University of Stirling in October 2003, Jo worked as a Careers Adviser at Robert Gordons University in Aberdeen, as a school and post school Careers Adviser within Forth Valley and Northumberland, and as a graduate trainee at Scottish Amicable (now Prudential). She is a member of the Association of Graduate Careers Advisory Services (AGCAS).
