Exercise Classes

The exercise class timetable offers 50 exercise classes per week. The programme has something for everyone, from Zumba to Clubbercise and HIIT to Cycle, we have the class for you. Our fully trained and energetic instructors will push you to your limits and ensure you get the best from your workout. Classes are open to all levels of fitness and experience.

Exercise Classes are included as part of a sports membership and non-members are welcome at a standard rate.

If the class programme doesn’t have everything you want, our Fitness Workshops, including yoga and pilates, might offer you an alternative specialised activity.

Aquacise This is water based workout trains the heart and lungs and tones the whole body, using the natural buoyancy of the water which reduces stress and impact on the joints.

A water based workout in deep water using floatation aids. This low impact jogging exercises class is great for toning the whole body. 


A non-contact session, based on the techniques in boxing. It will get you super-fit in a high intensity workout combining resistance training and aerobic exercise.


A fun easy-to-follow dance workout with rave glow sticks set to a soundtrack of old and new club hits. Bringing a night out to your workout!

Core De Force

Help tighten your core and burn calories with this fast-paced, 360 degree cardio workout broken into three-minute ‘rounds’ attacking boxing, kickboxing and Muay Thai combinations.


Burn calories and tone up through an indoor cycling group workout riding to the rhythm of the music. Work at your own pace through the hills, flats and sprints to reach your personal fitness goals.

Functional Circuits

A fun and exciting mix of both cardiovascular and resistance challenges to sculpt and shape the body using functional training methods.

H.I.I.T. (Strong, Endurance and Power)

High Intensity Interval Training combinesintense bouts of exercise with short recovery periods. Focus on endurance, strength, power or a combination of everything. Torch maximum calories in a minimum amount of time!


A full body exercise class that requires no equipment. The workout is based on maximum interval training and pushes you to your limits by combining aerobic, resistance and plyometric exercises.

Kettlebell Circuits

An all over toning and strengthening class using weighted Kettlebells. The class will challenge your stamina, muscular endurance, co-ordination, speed and flexibility using functional movements with the Kettlebells.

LBT A lower body toning and sculpting class that incorporates a mix of high and low impact moves.
PiYo Live

Sweat, stretch and strengthen – all in one low-impact, music driven, body-sculpting workout.

Pump it Up

This class uses barbells to strengthen the entire body. A selection of weights makes the class suitable for all and will challenge all major muscle groups.


A form of aerobic exercise using an elevated platform (the step) to tone your lower body and improve balance and co-ordination. A great calorie burning workout for all abilities.

Super Circuits

An instructor led circuit class using a number of stations with different exercises for specific body parts. An excellent way to improve aerobic fitness, strength and muscular endurance.

TRX (Core and FIT)

Suspension training, body weight exercises that will develop your strength, balance, flexibility and core stability simultaneously. Wherever you are in your fitness journey, TRX will help you to move better, feel better, and live better.


Join the Party! Zumba is a great way to condition your body to some funky music and moves from around the world.


Booking details

Members can book in to classes in person or via telephone up to seven days in advance. Non-members can book in to classes in person or via telephone up to one day in advance. Bookings can be made up to five minutes before the start of the class to ensure the start of each class isn't interrupted.

If you are booked on to a class and are unable to attend, please cancel your booking by calling the Sports Centre so that we can offer out your space. If you fail to attend three booked classes without cancelling in advance, you will be unable to pre-book on to classes for one week. Participants in our classes must be aged 16 or over.
