Siân Ringrose has worked in the higher education sector for the past ten years, primarily focusing on the effective communication and interpretation of research findings into policy. She is currently a Research Policy Officer at the University of Stirling where she is Project Manager for one of the University’s Strategic projects involving the Institute of Aquaculture. Siân is working closely with staff within the Institute of Aquaculture and across directorates to develop the new strategic plan for the Institute of Aquaculture and implement and manage a number of large projects to support the realisation of the Institute’s new strategy.
Prior to joining the University Of Stirling Siân worked for Scotland’s Rural College as a Policy Officer focusing on the dissemination and interpretation of changes to the policy environment within the agricultural and rural sectors, providing a range of stakeholders including Scottish Government, Scottish Parliament and industry bodies with advice and commentary on a range of agricultural and social issues. With a background in biological sciences and masters in Applied Animal Behaviour and Welfare, Siân has successfully combined a scientific base with analytical and management skill sets that have enabled her to support and enhance the activities of those around her. She has strong interests in the dissemination of research findings and a keen desire to facilitate the conversion of research findings into positive social, environmental or economic impacts.
