I am currently a lecturer in Science Education on the ITE programme at the University of Stirling. Before joining the University of Stirling, I taught as a lecturer in STEM education on the ITE programme at Brunel University, London. Prior to moving to the UK, I had several years of teaching and research in Nigeria, in the field of science education with particular interest in Physics education. In addition to my teaching and reserach roles here at Stirling, I also lead the University of Stirling/Heriot-Watt partnership for the undergraduate degree programme, for the training of Physics and Chemistry secondary school teachers.
My research interest is in Science Education with particular focus on the effectiveness of the teaching and learning of Physics in secondary schools. My previous research works have focused on students' perceptions and attitudes to science, barriers to effective science teaching and learning, gender in science, science teachers' pedagogical practices and school factors that affect students' interest, engagement and attainment in school science subjects.
