Robyn completed her undergraduate degree in English Studies at Teesside University, her Masters in Modern and Contemporary Studies at Newcastle University, and returned to Teesside to complete her NECAH funding PhD thesis exploring the subjectivities and representations of queer girls and women in contemporary gothic fiction.
Robyn has taught across the English Studies curriculum at Teesside and is now employed as a Lecturer here at Stirling where she teaches on the Media Management and Gender Studies postgraduate courses. Robyn supervises postgraduate dissertations across these disciplines. Her monograph on The New Queer Gothic, based on her PhD thesis, has been accepted for publication with The Universtiy of Wales Press's Gothic Literary Series.
