About me

I am a Chartered Health Psychologist registered with the Health and Care Professional Council with experience working in academic, health and social care settings.

I graduated with an MA(Hons) in Psychology from the University of Edinburgh in 2007. On completing my degree I worked as a Research Associate on the Lothian Birth Cohort 1936 study, a project investigating the major determinants of health, wellbeing, and cognitive decline in old age. I completed my MSc in Health Psychology at the University of Stirling in 2011 and enrolled as a Trainee Health Psychologist the following year (2012 –2015). My training was undertaken within an integrated psychology service, supporting North Lanarkshire Council’s Older Adult Service staff and service users, while being managed and professionally governed through NHS Lanarkshire’s Psychological Therapies for Older People team. On becoming a Health Psychologist I worked for NHS Lanarkshire and NHS Education for Scotland before joining the University of Stirling as a Research Fellow on the Health and Behaviour Research Programme in May 2018.

I am Honorary Secretary for the Division of Health Psychology Scotland Committee
