About me


I am working to develop international teaching and research in Heritage at the University of Stirling, after five years undertaking and co-leading on AHRC-funded research in digital heritage, public and medieval archaeology at Newcastle University, Central Saint Martins, and the UCL Institute of Archaeology. I am happy to supervise PhD students in the areas listed under my Research Interests.

Active projects

  • Ancient Identities in Modern Britain (CI), AHRC-funded, 2016-2019. Now a collaboration between Durham Archaeology, Durham Anthropology, UCL Institute of Archaeology and the University of Stirling. £348,481.
  • European Social Heritages (PI), funded by the UCL Centre for Critical Heritage Studies, 2018-present. £2,000.
  • Digital Heritage Big Data Hacking and Visualisation (PI), funded by the UCL Global Engagement fund, 2018-present. Now a collaboration between MetaLab at Harvard, the University of Michigan, Carleton University, the Fitzwilliam Museum (Cambridge University), the UCL Institute of Archaeology, and the University of Stirling. £3,000.
  • Crowd- and Community-fuelled Archaeological Research - MicroPasts (Co-founder), AHRC-funded, 2013-present. Now a collaboration between the UCL Institute of Archaeology, the Fitzwilliam Museum (Cambridge University) and the University of Stirling.
  • Arqueologia Publica en el Contesto Mediterraneo (sponsor and collaborator of visiting fellow Dr Jaime Almansa Sanchez), 2017-present. Fellowship funding from Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Cientificas.
