I'm an evolutionary ecologist studying how natural selection has shaped the natural variation we see all around us. I use large data sets collected from wild animal populations in order to address three related questions:

1. What are the causes and consequences of variation in defence against infection?

2. What drives variation in ageing rates between individuals?

3. How do conditions experienced during development and early life influence later-life fitness?
