Lila's research interests primarily include the sociology of the professions and the internationalisation of health care. Her PhD explored aspects of entrepreneurship as exhibited by medical professionals in a highly commercialised segment of the global health care provision. Within that framework, she explored the impact of changing relations and structures on professional identity, power, and cohesion, and through that investigated developments in contemporary professionalism. Most recently, her research expanded in the area of public health care professionals' (doctors) and lobbyists' work and work ethics.
Lila is interested in supervising PhD projects in the field of the sociology of the professions, work ethics, or transnational healthcare.
