About me

Dr Siddaway divides his time between conducting clinical research at the University of Stirling and working in clinical practice with adults and families as a Principal Clinical Psychologist in Glasgow. He is Registered as a Clinical Psychologist with the Health and Professions Council (HCPC number: PYL30674), having completed his Doctorate in Clinical Psychology in 2013.  MRC Clinical Research Training Fellowship:  In 2014, Dr Siddaway was awarded an MRC Clinical Research Training Fellowship. As part of this Fellowship, Dr Siddaway is completing a PhD. The title of the project is "Identifying and measuring key cognitions in suicidal and non-suicidal self-harm". Dr Siddaway is supervised by Professor Alex Wood (Behavioural Science Centre, Stirling), Professor Rory O’Connor (Suicidal Behaviour Research Laboratory, University of Glasgow), and Professor Ronan O’Carroll (Department of Psychology, University of Stirling). The Fellowship involves a series of studies based around the development and validation of a new self-report measure of cognitions about self-injurious behaviour. It is hoped that the development of a new measure of self-injurious cognitions will inform the conceptualisation of self-injurious behaviours (e.g. overlap and relationships between suicide and nonsuicidal self-harm) and have implications for clinical practice.
