Dr Margulis is Senior Lecturer in Political Economy in the Division of History and Politics at the University of Stirling. A former Canadian delegate to the WTO, OECD and United Nations agencies, his research focuses on global governance, international trade and food security. His work has been published in Global Governance, World Trade Review, Globalizations, Current Opinion on Environmental Sustainability, Canadian Foreign Policy Journal and Geopolitics and is the editor of The Global Political Economy of Raúl Prebisch (Routledge 2017) and co-editor with Nora McKeon and Saturnino Borras, Jr. of Land Grabbing and Global Governance (Routledge 2014). His research and teaching interests are in international political economy, global governance, agriculture and food policy, international development and human rights.
Prior to joining the University of Stirling in 2015, Dr Margulis was Assistant Professor of International Studies at the University of Northern British Columbia, Canada and Postdoctoral Fellow at the Max Planck Institute for the Study of Societies, Germany. He has been awarded research grants by the Social Science and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC). In 2014 Dr. Margulis received the Distinguished Academic Award - Early in Career from the Confederation of University Faculty Associations of British Columbia for his work on global food security.
