I did my PhD at the University of Nottingham with Dr. Jonathan Peirce focusing on cue combination of colour and luminance in edge detection (funded by the EPSRC). I then went on to the University of Lincoln for an ESRC funded post-doctoral position researching the role of the human form in motion perception.
I am interested in visual perception, particularly mid-level visual processes. The visual system is hierarchical moving from very simple to more complex. My main interests are in how the low-level elements are combined to create the high-level representations. I use psychophysical techniques and my specific interests include colour, cue combination, biological motion, illusions, symmetry and camouflage.
