I am a Lecturer ijn the Marketing and Retail Division of the Stirling Management School and a member of the Institute for Retail Studies at the University of Stirling. I hold a MBA in Retailing and Wholesaling degree from the University of Stirling.
Before joining the University, I had more than thirty years of experience in a variety of retailing roles before developimg my own retail consultancy specialising in location analysis and customer behaviour. In additon, I was Chair of the Manx Co-operative Society as well as a Main Board Director (for nine years) and Chair of the Remuneration Committee of the Co-operative Group before stepping down in May 2015.
Research Group: Institute for Retail Studies. My current research interests include rural retailing; the retail activities of community enterprises; online retailing and the uses of social media by retailers.
