I am a part time Professor of Economics at the University of Stirling and the Bruce V Rauner Professor of Economics at Dartmouth College, New Hampshire.I am a Research Associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research, a visiting scholar at the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston, a Research Associate, at the National Bureau of Economic Research (www.nber.org), a Research Fellow, at the Centre for Economic Studies at the University of Munich (www.CESifo.de), a Director of the 'Future of Labor Programme', and Research Fellow at The Institute for the Study of Labour (IZA) at the University of Bonn in Germany (www.iza.org). I have a BA in Social Sciences (Economics) from the University of Leicester, a PGC E (with distinction) in Teaching from Dudley College of Education, the University of Birmingham, an MSc (Econ), from the University of Wales and a PhD from the University of London (Queen Mary College). Previously I have worked as a Lecturer in the Department of Economics, at the University of Surrey (1986-1989) and been a Member of the Monetary Policy Committee, Bank of England (2006-2009).
