About me

Education BTh (Oxon) - University of Oxford BSc (Hons) in Applied Accounting - Oxford Brookes University MSc in Accounting - University of Glamorgan (now South Wales) PG Cert in Higher Education Practice - University of Bradford PG Diploma in Research Methods - University of Bradford

Background I joined Stirling Management School in October 2013, in the new post of Director of External Programmes, from Bradford University's School of Management, where I spent nearly 10 years as both a part- and full-time Lecturer in Accounting. My previous roles there included Director of Studies posts for various home and overseas programmes, the School's Co-ordinator for external Academic Partnerships, and Deputy Head of the Accounting, Finance, and Economics Group.

My main areas of expertise are in both external programme management, and quality assurance and accreditation, specifically relating to AMBA, EQUIS, and AACSB regulations and validation procedures, and I also have experience of both validating and quality-assuring foundation and pre-degree pathway programmes. I am a Fellow of the ACCA and AIA Accounting Institutions, and the Higher Education Academy; as well as teaching on undergraduate Management Accounting and Taxation courses, I am the School's Deputy Director of Learning and Teaching, and I am also an External Examiner for Edinburgh Napier University's financial planning courses.

Research

My research is focused on external partner students' experiences of education, in respect of HE Institutions' abilities to provide "an equivalence of educational experience".
