About me

About me

My previous background is in Medicine and health science, having worked as a doctor in acute and general medicine, as well as in clinical virtual reality learning opportunities for a number of years. During my years as a clinician I became increasing interested in patient care for those experiencing substance use, particularly for those experiencing problematic use and wanted to explore how improvements in care could be made. In light of this I have embarked upon my PhD, exploring ways of providing take home naloxone from hospital settings to people who use drugs.

Research

Addiction and substance use, harm reduction, overdose, opioid use and take home naloxone provision and use.
