A Media Management graduate has been recognised as one of the 75 top young Indian alumni of the United Kingdom.
Rohit Jaiswal, who has held roles at Times of India and New Delhi Television Limited, was awarded a prestigious India UK Achievers Honour.
This year, the awards celebrated 75 Indian change-makers who have studied in the UK to mark India’s 75th anniversary of independence.

I am honoured to receive this recognition and I want to use this joyous moment to thank my family, friends, the institutions where I have studied, including Stirling, and the people who I work with within the media industry from across the globe, for it would not have been possible without their trust and support.
Mr Jaiswal added: “As a trained journalist in India, I was looking to dive deeper into the global media landscape and Stirling’s Media Management course looked to be both challenging and exciting and felt like the right course for me.”
After graduating, Rohit returned to India where he joined the corporate strategy team at The Times of India, begore moving on to work for New Delhi Television Limited’s (NDTV) distribution department. He rose through the ranks, becoming Vice President (Distribution & Affiliates), with the responsibility of building the revenue and reach of the NDTV news channel across the globe. He recently left this position to co-found his own media company.

Mr Jaiswal said: “Knowledge is an asset that compounds over time and the University of Stirling provided that intellectually stimulating ground and the required skills that allowed me to grow my over two-decade-career in the media industry.”
The India UK Achievers Honours are organised by the National Indian Students and Alumni Union UK (NISAU) in partnership with the British Council India/UK Together Season of Culture.
Sanam Arora, founder and chairperson of NISAU, said: “Working on the Honours has been an unforgettable experience for the NISAU team. We have always known that the work of Indian graduates of British universities was extraordinary, but I don’t think even we realised just how profoundly world-changing it is.”
Achievers were recognised across five categories: Business and entrepreneurship, Education, science and innovation, Arts, culture and entertainment and sports, Government, politics, law and society and Media and journalism.
Unable to attend the ceremony in London in person, Mr Jaiswal’s award was collected on his behalf by his close friend Manish Tiwari. Founder and chairperson of multi-cultural marketing agency Here and Now 365, Mr Tiwari received The Freedom of the City of London title earlier this month.
