University Management Centre becomes Stirling Court Hotel

Stirling Management Centre is changing its name to Stirling Court Hotel.

The hotel and conference venue - within the grounds of the University of Stirling - says the change is to better reflect its services “across the hospitality, leisure and conference markets”.

Managers are particularly keen to attract more leisure visitors to the venue, which boasts 100 en-suite bedrooms, as well as meeting and event spaces.

The rebranding will see facilities being upgraded, along with the creation of a new fitness area. The new Stirling Court Hotel logo will be rolled-out across the hotel’s print and online promotional materials over the course of the next few months.

The venue is run as a commercial offshoot of the University of Stirling, with surpluses re-invested into the University.

Liam Spillane, Director of Commercial Services at the University, said: “The Management Centre has been open for more than 20 years and is widely recognised as a first-class venue for events and conferences.

“Our rebranding as Stirling Court Hotel aims to highlight that we also offer a great range of overnight accommodation for tourists and services for all sorts of social events. Being based at the picturesque University of Stirling campus means we can offer our customers top-class sport and recreational options on our doorstep.

“While our name will change, we promise to continue to deliver great value, event management, facilities, accommodation, food and services that satisfy our customers’ expectations time after time, event after event.”

Geoff Morrison from Destination Stirling – which aims to encourage more visitors to the local area – said: “We wish the Management Centre every success under its new name as Stirling Court Hotel. The name change will underline the wider, non-business facilities on offer and attract more customers to the venue, especially in this key year for tourism in Stirling.”

The hotel is a renowned venue for business meetings and residential conferences, containing a range of purpose-built training facilities, flexible meeting rooms, exhibition and conference spaces. As well as offering affordable, high-quality accommodation, the hotel also hosts a range of social and celebration events such as weddings, private dinners and other special occasions.

It is one of only two venues in Scotland who are members of the highly-respected consortium for Conference Centres of Excellence. Under its previous name as Stirling Management Centre it has been rated four out of five for service and value on TripAdvisor.

Only a few minutes’ drive from the Wallace Monument and Stirling Castle, the hotel is an ideal base to explore Stirling and surrounding areas. It is half way between Glasgow and Edinburgh and 15 miles from the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park.
