The Faculties research post graduate (PG) community comprises over over 100 excellent candidates undertaking programmes of research that cover all of our research themes. All research PGs are embedded within a strong and supportive research culture where their work is a critical and valued part of our research portfolio.
All academic staff are active in research and are involved in the supervision of students. Wherever possible, supervisors operate an open door policy for their students for regular, informal contact. Students are normally working on projects which complement existing research programmes and are encouraged to participate in and interact with related research activities of the Faculty. Research students are encouraged to take certain portions of the taught MSc Courses which are relevant to their research topic and are further supported in generic skills training.
A PhD will normally take three years to complete and an MPhil by research two years.
