This module offers students the opportunity to undertake a piece of original research under the supervision of an experienced researcher. Students contribute to the design of the research and execute and analyse the investigation. The final outcome of the process is the production of a dissertation in the style of a journal article describing the background to the research, the procedure, analysis and conclusions. Part of the overall aim is to give students more autonomy than they have previously experienced during the course of their studies by allowing them the opportunity to plan and implement a work schedule over a long time period.
Runs in Autumn or Spring semester for combined honours students
