PSYPCO1: Core Psychology 1
This module covers the basics of psychology in an in-depth and accelerated fashion, enabling students to acquire the key concepts and core knowledge of psychology in its broadest sense. Core Psychology 1 introduces students to the following disciplines:
- PSYU9AC Cognition: Processes of perception, object, word and face recognition, attention, memory, language and judgement.
- PSYU9ID Individual Differences: Origins of personality differences, in genes and culture.
- PSYU9AJ Social Psychology: Social behaviour and its social and biological underpinnings, the complexities of real world social phenomena (attitudes and behaviour, social influence, emotion, prejudice, helping behaviour, intergroup conflict) and how these phenomena can be studied scientifically.
