Subject/Title: I am carrying out insider ethnographic action research to integrate sustainable development principles into the Scottish Parliament's scrutiny processes.
First Supervisor: Dr Kepa Mendibil
Second Supervisor:   Professor George Burt

Background

After a chaotic education at seven schools on three continents, I settled in Scotland.

I have an honours degree in genetics from the University of Edinburgh, and a master's degree in sustainable development from Stirling.

Aside from lots of random student jobs, I've worked in social marketing and research, the community sector, and for the environmental regulator.  My main expertise is in sustainable development.

Research Interests

I'm interested in everything to do with sustainable development, and my PhD project focusses on how you make change within a complex organization.

Teaching

I'm currently teaching a lunchtime class in the Iyengar method of yoga.

Other Interests

I'm a member of the International Society for Ecological Economics, the Social Research Association, the Soil Association and the Iyengar Yoga Association (UK).
